Holiday Sing-a-long

KGGV and the Guerneville Community Church have partnered to put on a Community Holiday Sing-a-long... The whole community is invited to join us on Sunday, December 11th for an evening of sharing, singing and family fun.

It was so much fun last year that we’re doing it again. KGGV and the Guerneville Community Church are joining together to host a family-fun holiday sing-along at the Guerneville Community Church on Sunday, December 11 from 4 to 7 pm. Join host Mike Adams, of the Fargo Brothers, and other merry musicians in singing holiday songs and Christmas carols. There will be hot drinks for sale and free candy canes. Also featured will be a raffle, gift sale and bake sale to raise money to support both organizations. So come on out to celebrate the season and support two important community resources.

Where and When:
Sunday, December 11th from 4 to 7 pm
Starting at 4 pm: Join us in Birkhofer Hall for hot drinks, baked items and gifts for sale
At 5:15 pm: Mosey over to the Church Sanctuary as raffle winners are announced
5:30 pm: The music begins! A mix of performed and group singing with the lyrics provided for everyone that wants to participate.
The Guerneville Community Church is located at 14520 Armstrong Woods Road. Keep your eyes open for the sign on the right side of the road (as you travel from town) and turn left over the one-lane bridge.

Short Performances:
To remind us how the tunes go and warm up our ears, several short performances will lead into the singing-along. Starting with Michael Adams of The Fargo Brothers and Pat Nolan with some tunes from the CD supporting the GCC. Then a brief selection from The Mighty Chiplings, teenage blue grass sensations.

Join the Chorus:
When the singing begins, everyone is welcome! We're providing the lyrics and the musicians so you can join in... Don't be bashful! We'll sing traditional carols, hymns and secular favorites. Families are encouraged to bring the little ones to learn these great songs and build a tradition!

Food Drive:
This event is also a "food-raiser" event for the Food Pantry located at the Guerneville Community Church. There will be barrels for non-perishable food donations and each person that bring items to donate will receive one free raffle ticket! It's easy to participate - just bring one or more non-perishable food items to the Holiday Sing-a-long... When you put your donations in the barrel, you'll be given a raffle ticket.

Raffle:
This year, we've grouped our items and chosen carefully so participants will fight over the raffle prizes... Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, 24 for $20 and so on. You keep half the ticket and put the other half in the bag of the item you want to win. And as the prizes line up and are ready to go, we'll post the items and donors right here. Want a quick teaser? I see a family-fun pack... Something made by a local artist or two... And something very special just for Christmas.

Bake Sale Table:
Sweet tooth, huh? We've got you covered. Members of the Church and KGGV are baking for the holiday and have a table of goodies for sale... Cookies, cakes, maybe a couple savories, and if you're really lucky some gluten and dairy-free yummies too.

Gift Table:
Fantastic items for sale from a local business person - all new items... This is not a white elephant sale - it's holiday shopping! All reasonably priced and ALL the proceeds benefit the Church and KGGV.

Hot Drinks:
You can't have a sing-a-long without hot chocolate, hot cider, coffee and tea! $1 each to keep your fingers warm and your voices strong and clear! Cups of water are always free.

Holiday Wishes:
The holidays remind us that we can join together and hope for the best in everyone and everything. To share in the holiday spirit with us, we invite you to stop at the paper garland table in Birkhofer Hall before the singing begins and write out your with for the community, your family or yourself. Your dreams, prayers and wishes will build the garland decorating the church's Christmas Tree this year.

Thank you for continuing to support the Guerneville Community Church and KGGV!
